"If a yoga teacher talks about yoga being "Love" then they haven't experienced it, they wouldn't be able to talk about it......its indescribable." |
| You have to be able to THINK you can do this! |

The way James's classes are structured The humour and fun in the class is also paramount for starting and advancing, and also enables the levels of discipline and focus you will gain. Tuning out and into humour and other people is up to you and your own level of focus for that day. For self practice is what you're aiming for, although James teaches with the add ins from Derek Ireland if you don't practice them you don't have to do them (self practitioners only!!), if you want to you can. If you are from the rigid view point of a sequence of the Pure Mysore type, be aware that the teachings have been changed/adapted forgotten (you can pick your word for this) and it depends on which generation of teacher you are or taught by. The classes that we hold are sacred places where it is safe to release emotions; sometimes this release is imperative to continue. People Honor that for each other in the classes, embracing the whole range of human-ness so often devoid in our lives. Growth off and on the mat is expected in an unpressurized way and the teacher is at the end of the phone if needed: don't forget it's your evolution we are supporting. The adjustments are both strong and correcting and will help you learn to get deeper into all the postures. When you reach self-practice, the teacher will give you specific things to continually work on to strengthen, open and make your postures, experience and practice deeper than ever. This is a continual process, we are working for you to get up to self practice 6 a times a week, if you are using yoga for its better aim. In doing this you end up doing more and more practices at home (space allowing) and you move up to private classes once a month, see below. The classes are structured to give people the perfect environment to learn the Astanga system themselves, remembering and practicing without aids. The classes are taught without the use of block or belts or abbreviated postures, as these are literally "blocks" to the original positions. Simplifying the whole sequence, and adding in a million extra postures won't really get you to the final posture Meditation will be taught to those who ask for it within the class. An opportunity for you to educate yourself with a wider knowledge to enable you to expand and go deeper into life is available within the book section. |
